// you’re reading...

not really libraries

doggie time

When I opened this blog’s Dashboard earlier today, I saw that I had an incoming link from a site called Scratchings and Sniffings. That’s a new one by me, so I clicked to find a post about the New York Times story about tail-wagging. Evidently, the Scratching and Sniffing gang are readers of the fantastic CogSci Librarian and they found my comment on her post about the NYT story amusing. Everybody with me so far?

The upshot of all this is that I’m using Scratching and Sniffing as an excuse to post pictures of my adorable dog. His name is Cooper, he needs a bath, and I can’t tell which side his tail wags on.

He likes to roll around on the ground and talk:

He likes hearing about cookies (though he seems to prefer eating them):

Cooper is ever-vigilant for the evil that is squirrels:

    He is! A blue merle, so when people ask what kind of dog he is I say, "He's a collie, like Lassie, only not at all." He's a good boy, mostly.

    LibraryThing has been fun- I'm really looking forward to seeing how our users like it.
  • Hey, is that a short-haired collie? My sister has one, a good dog!

    Here via LibraryThing. Congratulations! I hope my library ties in someday.

    is it a blue building? my favorite thing about Cooper's coloring are his ears. One has spots, the other is dark gray. it's sort of visible in this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/itsjustkate/489180712/
  • too cute!

    There's a building at UConn with a roof that, um, reminds me of Cooper. It's the coloring, I think.
