oh, yeah. that's our google box. it's great for search, but it's confusing on the page. the google box will lead to the catalog, where you can see ltfl. both search boxes should work. i'm a little confused by your experience. in both cases, the results list will not display any ltfl data. only the specific page for a book will, if that makes sense.

either way, ltfl is great! i can't wait for more libraries to have it too!

Found this posting through LibraryStuff, then went on to your catalog to see all the LibraryThing magic. Disappointment at first, because I did not see it! Then I noticed there you do not put one but two searchboxes on the same page, and as I found out the one on top is where LibraryThing for Libraries is, not in the central searchbox.

Which is a little confusing, but the LibraryThing for Libraries add-on seems to works great. Can't wait to get that for my library!

Hi Hillary! It's insanely exciting. Since you're on iii too, it would look pretty much just like it does in our catalog. It's right up your alley- it's fun and good for patrons without being a big pain for your tech services department.

thanks for the plug, cogsci!

Kate -- this is awesome! I've been dying to see what would happen with Library Thing and our catalogs since I heard about it in April. Now I can't wait to show my OR library friends. Nice work!

Thanks Doug! We're pretty excited! I am so going to steal that "dark arts of cataloging" line from you (perhaps tech services needs a new sign...)

I'm not a cataloger, either, but I know fun metadata when I see it! The tag browser is way faster today (yay Tim!), so I hope everyone keeps playing in our catalog.

Hi Kate,

Congrats from me and on behalf of the rest of here at the Division of Library Development. Nice work, good job, kudos, and hooba hobas to you.

Though I'm not much of a 'dark arts of cataloging' type and some of the more technical stuff goes over my head, I certainly appreciate forward thinking on behalf of patrons!
